Summary:
This is a position for an experienced Microsoft .Net developer. The Developer Support Technician will provide high level technical support to our customers and internal staff. The Developer Support Technician is responsible for diagnosing complex product and implementation issues in a variety of environments. Successful candidates will be given extensive training in the installation, configuration and use of the Software.

Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting complex client server applications. Issues to be resolved require a broad range of troubleshooting skills related to software product functionality, application server setup, database management, data analysis, and operating system configuration.
Resolve customer issues by providing workarounds, temporary fixes, and design changes.

Read product source code to identify customer reported issues

Provide analysis tools and debug code to pin point customer issues

Identify product defects and recreation steps, so that official product fixes can be created
Provide internal support and guidance for other Technical Support personnel
Consult with clients over the phone on various problems, issues, and questions pertaining to the use of Metastorm Software

Escalate calls to development and management organizations in a responsible manner when required.
Train colleagues and customers on best practices and approaches
Create content for Knowledge Base articles, user forums, and other self-help materials
Other duties as assigned

Key Skills:
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, C# .Net, ASP.NET, XML, Web Services, and application tuning
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 / Oracle 10G or 11i installation, configuration, queries, and RDBMS operations.
Proficient in debugging PL-SQL or T-SQL and ASP.Net code
Working knowledge of Microsoft's IIS 6.0 or 7.0, Windows 2003 or 2008
Knowledge of diagnostic, tracing, and auditing tools
Familiarity with Java, C++, or other object oriented programming languages
Understanding of relational database(s).
Experience with Web based applications is a plus
Experience with WebSphere, Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS is a plus
Experience with Unix, Linux, z/OS, or iSeries is a plus
Experience with WebSphere MQ is a plus
The ability to communicate with customers and resolve their issues in an effective and professional manner.
Must have good English verbal and written communications skills. Most communication is done in English.


Education:
BS in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or commensurate workplace experience

Experience:
5 - 10 year technical background in computer systems engineering, software development, or software support.
Experience designing, building, testing, and debugging software
